Could twitter be used to see positive book reviews?

I've previously discussed social cataloguing sites here before. Therefore, I was quite interested on programmable web to see Fflick, a movie review site, which:-

Fflick is a social movie review site, where the reviews come in bite-sized pieces from Twitter. The way its developers combine the reviews with other APIs and visuals shows how an excellent site can be built by bringing in content from elsewhere.

The most impressive piece is how Fflick mines Twitter to find tweets that include mini movie reviews. It looks for the name of a movie (or sometimes a portion of a movie name). From there, it also attempts to determine the positive or negative sentiment, seemingly by looking for specific words in a tweet.Therefore, I was wonering if this could be done for book? Taking API data from Amazon for book covers and Librarything etc for reviews?

Mash oop north......Mike Ellis talk

Mike Ellis was next up.  He was discussing Scraping, scripting, hacking. Mike looked at how we could scrape data via Yahoo pipes, Google Docs, Dapper, YQL, HTTRACK, Regex (which Mike said was very powerful), Mail Merge (I kid you not), Html tidy, Open Calais (which is better than Regex Mike said) and many more. It was all pretty quick, and I found it hard to keep up with (read I'm not too hot on this). Owen Stephens gives a lot better overview of it here though.

Mash up continued

Having briefly discussed the mash up at birkbeck last week, I was great impressed and frustrated in equal measure. Impressed in Owen Stephens organising the event, with some great talks, especially from Tony Hirst discussion and use of Yahoo pipes and google docs and how to utilize them.
My disappointment comes in not staying for the afternoon session to utilise what I had learnt from the talks beforehand. Unfortunately I had not booked time off work to do this. For those who went, I had a very enjoyable time (and a lot of coffee). For those who diddn't, here are a few links from those those who went (1, 2 & 3).
